Startup spring in Belgrade!

This spring, Belgrade tends to be a center of the SEE startup scene once again, by gathering more than 5000 people at the first Startit Fest from 15 to 19 May. First in a series of events is the international FundraiseIT 2014 conference organized by Serbian Business Angels Network – SBAN, scheduled for 16th of May in “Crowne Plaza” hotel.

Experiences with the participants of the conference FundraiseIT 2014 will share  Vitaly Golomb as a key note speaker (Founder of Keen Systems and co-founder of the European Venture Summit; 500 Startups, Innovation Nest, TechPeaks and board member of Happy Farm –  Ukraine) but also Oliver Holle (entrepreneur and investor from Austria, partner at Speedinvest), Floris Van Alkemade (Founder Solid Ventures, Business angel and serial investor, Layar, BoosterMedia and director TSOC); Maurice Beckand Verwee (angel Investor NDL; Business inVentures, Crosspring, Udoc ), Ulrich  Schmidt (entrepreneur and investor, co-founder of the European JV (Adtech AG), founder of Pepper Media,  member of the Board dMarC Broadcasting and  Falk eSolution), Saša Cvetojević (investor and entrepreneur, Board member CRANE, founder IP) and others.

This year for the first time, students will have exclusive opportunity to be a part of FundraiseIT 2014 conference thanks to SBAN’s action “Let’s all be a part of FundraiseIT“. High Tech Engineering Center – HTEC Ltd as growing engineering company provided 50 free tickets for participation on FundraiseIT 2014 international conference for students from Serbia and the region and Microsoft Development Center provided 10 free tickets for students of technical faculties.

As a partner event Startit Fest! will consist of 50 different small and big events, workshops, lectures, pitches, networking sessions, panels and of course, parties. The whole festival is organized by SEE ICT, organization committed to the development of the Serbian start-up scene, which is the author of, the leading portal about tech entrepreneurship in the region.

The festival will also host experienced entrepreneurs such as Branko Milutinovic from Nordeus, Igor Bogicevic from Seven Bridges Genomics, Sinisa Komlenic from Themes Kingdom, Bane Seslija from Deploy Inc. and also few interesting foreign guests.

Among more than 50 startups presenting themselves at the Fest are also the teams from the second generation of Startup Academy, and besides startups, a large number of investors, from entire Europe is expected to participate. For the very beginning we can announce the biggest and most successful European accelerators, Seedcamp second visit to Belgrade as a part of a program.
